What is the conference about?

The #SHEcurity initiative (Twitter – Instagram) was launched in 2020 on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of UN resolution 1325 on “Women, Peace and Security”. The campaign takes stock of the advancement of women in peace and security.

This year, the #SHEcurity index was extended: both regarding the number of data sets covered (106 all in all) and with a focus on best practices from the Global South. The new version of the index was presented at an online conference on Thursday, 27 October 2022. Initiative of Dr.Hannah Neumann

In Romania there is still much room for improvement when it comes to women’s representation in Peace and Security. All Defense ministers until now have been men! Over the past 21 years, there has been only one woman serving as Foreign Minister for 4 months!
